phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT)

An advanced ultrasonic testing technique used to inspect materials for defects or anomalies. It involves the use of multiple ultrasonic transducers that are electronically controlled to produce and receive ultrasonic waves at different angles and focal points. By manipulating the timing and amplitude of the individual transducers, PAUT provides flexibility in beam steering and focusing, allowing for enhanced imaging and detection capabilities.
