interaction of anomalies

The behavior and effects that occur when two or more adjacent anomalies in the wall of a pipeline or component of a pipeline that may interact to weaken the pipeline more than either would individually. Anomalies can include various types of defects, such as corrosion, cracks, dents, weld anomalies, or other structural irregularities. Understanding the interaction of these anomalies is vital for assessing the overall integrity of the asset and determining the proper mitigation measures.
