Internationales Symposium Pipelinetechnik 2019
The Internationales Symposium Technik is a one-day long event that includes workshop based lectures along with an exhibition. NDT Global will be hosting a booth, so feel free to stop by and learn more about how to improve your integrity management program.
This event will take place on June 6th at the RuhrCongress in Bochum, Germany.
NDT Global's Henrik Witte, Engineer of Sensor Technology, will be providing insights on the accuracy of Ultrasonic Geometry. Summary of his presentation is below:
State-of-the-art damage assessment methods for geometric defects in pipelines are becoming increasingly reliable thanks to advanced inspection technologies. The calculation of material stresses and fatigue limits, as well as finite element modeling, benefit greatly from the quality of the input data, which is now higher-resolution and more accurate than ever before. For this purpose, a new generation of robots was developed and brought to market at NDT Global, which uses ultrasound measurement to deliver three-dimensional geometry data of outstanding quality from the pipeline. Since the first successful commercial inspection in March 2016, this new ultrasonic fleet has been inspecting more than 4,000 km of pipeline worldwide. Here, a success rate of 100% is maintained.
